Bank Islam Debit Card-i: Participation In Overseas and Card-Not Present (CNP) transactions


FAQ

1)

Q:What is this about?

A:Bank Islam Debit Card-i provides you with the convenience for you to perform retail transactions including Overseas and Card-Not-Present (CNP*) transactions as our card comes with safety security features (3D secured).

However, there are certain merchants of Overseas and CNP transaction that do not support such safety security features. As such, in order to safeguard the interest of our valued customer, we wish to inform you that there are certain risks associated with Overseas and CNP transactions which are not authenticated via strong authentication method as follows:-

 

1 The information of your Bank Islam Debit Card-i might be stolen through merchant using unsecured/inadequate authentication method or with intention to commit fraud.
2 The stolen information of your Bank Islam Debit Card-i details might be used to perform series of unauthorised transactions.
3 The unauthorised transaction occurred on your card may result in you would not be able to use the full amount of the disputed transaction until completion of the investigation.

 

Effective 1st January 2016, all Bank Islam Debit Card-i shall be disabled for all overseas and CNP transactions. However, you may opt to enable/continue enjoying overseas and CNP transactions by calling us at 03-26 900 900.

Q:What are CNP transactions?

A:CNP transactions are all Mail Order/Telephone Order (MOTO), Direct Debit and e-commerce transactions that you performed without the presence of physical debit card.

Q:Who will be affected?

A:To both new and existing customers, effective 1st January 2016, your Bank Islam Debit Card-i shall be disabled for all overseas and CNP transactions. However, you may opt to participate in these transactions as follows:-

For all new customers, you are required to indicate your agreement to perform participation in overseas and CNP transactions when you open a new account with the Bank.

For existing customers, you may call our Contact Centre at 03-26 900 900 to enable your Bank Islam Debit Card-i to perform overseas and CNP transactions.

Q:What should I do if I come to know that there is an unauthorised Overseas and CNP transaction?

 A:You need to inform us immediately upon noticing any unauthorised transaction in your Debit Card-i. Upon receipt of your complaint, we will immediately block and issue a replacement card to prevent further unauthorised transaction from going through and details investigation shall then be conducted.

Q:What happen if I report an unauthorized transaction knowing well that the transaction has been authorised by me?

A:The Bank will investigate all unauthorized transactions claimed by customer, however, if the customers are found to knowingly provided false, incomplete, misleading facts or information to the Bank with the intention of making false claims or attempting to defraud thereto shall be subjected to prevailing criminal offences in Malaysia.  Any claims, demand, action, proceedings, losses, damages, costs and/or expenses arising from such fraud and/or attempted fraud shall be fully indemnified by the customers.

Q:What if I have already participated in the Overseas and CNP Transaction but decided otherwise later on?

A:You may call our Contact Centre at 03-26 900 900 anytime to change your participation status at any time.
