BIMB Foreign Currency Clearing Agency Sdn Bhd (BIFCA) was set-up on March 13, 2000. A fully owned subsidiary of Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad upon an acquisition of a 24.5% stake from Al Mina Ventures Sdn Bhd on the March 2, 2007, BIFCA continues to operate as a foreign currency clearing house established under the Syariah principle approved by Bank Negara Malaysia.

Commenced its operations on March 31, 2000 BIFCA business scope is to act as an agent and a clearing house where money changers and banking institution can sell or purchase their foreign currency notes requirements in a fast and efficient manner to meet the market demand. 

BIFCA is the centre for importing and exporting of foreign currency notes for the Malaysian market. Its role is to assist the regulatory bodies in monitoring the inflow and outflow of foreign currency notes.
