Bank Islam Opens 3 New Branches in Kota Damansara, Subang Jaya and Kuantan


Expanded network will enhance convenience and service delivery

KUALA LUMPUR, Friday [28 August, 2009]: Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (Bank Islam) today opened  3 new branches in Kota Damansara and USJ in Selangor, Kuantan in Pahang in line with its continuous efforts to meet the ever-increasing needs of its valued customers.

Bank Islam Managing Director Dato’ Zukri Samat said: “The investment and expansion of our network is will enhance the distribution of our products and the service quality in line with expectations that comes with the Most Trusted Brand in Islamic banking. With today’s opening, there are now 96 Bank Islam branches throughout the country.”

“The choice of location for the new branches is based on feedback from customers, both within the immediate vicinity of the branch as well as from the surrounding areas.  We believe our presence in these localities will also help strengthen Bank Islam’s relationship with the local communities.”

Whether we are adding new branches or introducing new products our goal is always to meet the needs of our customers, he added.

 “Our enlarged network and increased presence will make our Shariah-based products and services easily available to existing and potential new customers. It will ultimately contribute towards the Government’s objective of promoting Malaysia as a centre for Islamic finance,” he added.

Each branch is modeled to offer a fresh and friendly ambience   to enable customers to   comfortably perform their transactions.  A special area dedicated to internet banking has been incorporated into each branch. In addition, customers can also opt to transact using self-service terminals - the automated-teller, cash deposit and cheque deposit machines.

Business owners and residents can perform a variety of transactions at these full-service branches, including accounts opening, an opportunity to invest in structured and wealth management products as well as for financings.

Business hours are from 9.30a.m. to 4.30p.m. from Mondays to Fridays. The branches are closed on public holidays.
