KUALA LUMPUR, Friday [28 August 2009]: Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad’s (Bank Islam) branches in Kuala Krai, Kelantan and Chukai in Terengganu have been relocated to new and larger premises on Sunday [30 Aug] in line with its commitment to continuously improve on service delivery.
Bank Islam Managing Director, Y.Bhg. Dato’ Zukri Samat said that the relocation of the branches to a larger premise is a testimony of Bank Islam’s progress in Kelantan and Terengganu as well as a commitment to enhance its services to customers in Kuala Krai and Chukai.
The new location of the Kuala Krai branch is at No. 36 & 37, Jalan Sultan Yahya Petra, 18000 Kuala Krai, Kelantan while the new location of the Chukai branch is at Lot PT 16096-16098, Jalan Kubang Kurus, Chukai, 24000 Kemaman, Terengganu Darul Iman.
Bank Islam has been serving the shariah-compliant banking needs of the community in Kelantan and Terengganu for more than 26 years since the opening of the first Kelantan branch in Kubang Kerian in 1984 and Terengganu branch in Chukai in 1983. To date, Bank Islam has a total of nine branches in Kelantan and four branches in Terengganu.
The Kuala Krai branch is headed by Encik Meor Abdul Rahman Md Yusop while Chukai branch is headed by Encik Zameran Jusoh. Both Branch Managers will be assisted by 13 specially-trained executives.
Opening hours will be from 9:30am until 4:30pm, from Mondays to Fridays. After banking hours, customers will still be able to access to the 24-hour Self-service Terminal, located at the lobby area. The branch is closed on public holidays.
