KOTA SAMARAHAN, Sarawak, Friday [27 February, 2009]: Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad’s (Bank Islam) customers in the vicinity of Kota Samarahan can look forward to further improvements in service delivery from next Monday (2nd March). This follows the relocation of the branch to a larger premise at Desa Ilmu Commercial Centre in the key center of Kota Samarahan.
Bank Islam Managing Director Dato’ Zukri Samat said that the relocation of the branch to a larger premise is in line with the Bank’s philosophy of putting the customers at the centre of everything it does. The upgrading is also to meet the needs of a growing customer base in Kota Samarahan.
Dato’ Zukri said Bank Islam will continue to offer a full range of Shariah-based products and services, which includes retail banking, corporate banking, trade financing, sukuks and bank guarantees, remittances and contract financing amongst others.
Bank Islam has been operating in Sarawak for 23 years. Its first branch was set up in Kuching in 1986. The Bank currently operates four branches in Sarawak. The other two are in Bintulu and Miri.
The Kota Samarahan branch, located at No 1-3, Block 1, Desa Ilmu Commercial Centre, Jalan Mohd Musa, is headed by Encik Awang Nordin Awang Bahar and he will be assisted by 13 specially-trained executives.
